When you order please provide list of all the names you want on the afghan. The general rule of thumb is the parents/grandparents (matriarch/patriarch) at the bottom of the tree with the children on the lower branches (depending on how many), followed by the grandchildren, then so on. Most of the time customers pick a thread color for the parents, a different color for the children and another for the grandchildren. Sometimes if it's a large family, they will clump each family set as same color. For example on the Mills Family afghan, Ernie's family includes himself, Penny, Jonathan, Lilly, and Joyce. Whereas on the Neal family afghan, all the children Warren, Wallace, Gerald, and Nathan are the same dark blue thread, the grandchildren, "Dawn, Alecia, Jonathan, Melissa, and Kara" are done in evergreen thread. The great grandchildren are in cardinal thread.

Please let me know whether you'd prefer to do each family set in specific thread colors or each generation in a specific thread color.
